These Come from Trees

As one of my "crazy" "eco-strategies," I have been using a towel to dry my hands instead of paper towels. Here's why.

As everyone should know, paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, etc, come from trees. The first step in creating paper towels is also known as "logging." Have you, ye loyal readers, ever heard of "logging" as a good thing?

Furthermore, these trees (which produce products whose post-consumer destination is inside the earth) end up in landfills, as this article highlights; "with over 90% of US households taking advantage of the convenience of papertowels, we produce over 3,000 tons of waste each day."

Yet still, electric hand driers aren't everywhere - for example: office buildings (including the one at which I am).

But, I guess they're convenient.
