Online Holiday Spending: All-Time High
With people buying more than ever, please keep some recycling tips in mind.

- When recycling, put like-items together.
- What I'm talking about here is basically to recycle plastic bags at the supermarket.
- Recycle almost everything.
- Almost always, domestic recycling is co-mingled / single-stream. The intention in recycling is to separate like items and sell them to companies that will use them / treat them for (re)use. There is a threshold on that sale for cleanliness. If a shipment (a series of huge 10ft x 10ft x 10 ft) blocks of recycled stuff) is too dirty ("contaminated"), the recycling company will get less money for that shipment. But, if people recycled stuff that may be considered "contaminated" instead of throwing it away (like a lightly-used paper plate), you'd be helping the recycling company generate revenue and help the expansion of recycling.
- The only things you shouldn't recycle is plastic (because you shouldn't get it in the first place), egg crates (for whatever reason they're not recyclable), and delicatessen paper (it's lined in plastic, making it neither plastic nor paper.

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas/Hanukkah!
